Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

PRP Injection Treatments

Benefits Of

Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet Rich Plasma is a regenerative medical treatment that uses a concentration of platelet cells derived from the patient’s own blood. Due to the fact that the patient is providing the platelets from their own body, there is little risk of rejection or negative side effects. The platelets are rich in growth factors that promote and enhance soft tissue healing. A PRP treatment promotes the body’s natural healing process. This allows your body to heal with little to no downtime.

This procedure allows you to return to your normal daily routine the same day. The doctor will draw a small amount of blood, and place it into a centrifuge, which spins the blood down, and separates the blood from the plasma. This plasma is rich in platelets and growth factors. Once the plasma has been extracted, the doctor then reinjects the concentrated plasma into the targeted area. Results and specifics of the PRP injection treatment can vary from patient to patient, and more than one treatment may be necessary.

Joint Pain

Joint pain can have several causes: an injury, joint inflammation, arthritis, or joint overuse. At Verdant Health we offer several effective and natural options for relief from swollen and painful joints including Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP).

Knee Pain

Knee pain can be caused by osteoarthritis or a trauma or injury. At Verdant Health, we offer a more natural approach to treating the source of your knee pain, instead of recommending surgeries, steroid shots or heavy pain medications.

Tennis Elbow/Golfer's Elbow PRP is particularly effective for common over-use injuries like lateral epicondylitis or tennis elbow. Get back to the swing of things using your own blood.

Shoulder Pain

Shoulder inflammation is usually caused by damaged shoulder ligaments – either from an injury, overuse or arthritis. However, the longer that ligament is injured, the more intense the shoulder pain becomes.
